Building Digital TV in Africa
Digital Television Capacity Building Conference 8-10 November 2017
SADIBA is pleased to announce a collaborative effort towards a Digital Television Capacity Building Conference that will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa, 8-10 November 2017.
This capacity building conference is inspired by a joint ITU/EBU/BNE/DVB workshop held in Geneva in October 2016 (For more info on the joint ITU/EBU/BNE/DVB workshop click here). These organisation are collaborating with SADIBA in preparing the Johannesburg event in November 2017.
What will be covered
The conference will have a strong training- and capacity building focus. It will concentrate on competencies and skills required to plan-, implement and operate digital television systems and networks. The conference will cover satellite -and terrestrial broadcasting as well as on-line content delivery. The sessions and topics will be of a technical nature. The first two conference days will cover the fundamentals of digital television. Day 3 will see international experts present a number of master classes. See the programme here
Who should attend
The sessions and topics will be tailored towards engineering staff working within the production environment, studios, head-ends, transmissions networks as well as those dealing with installations and receiving equipment.
Colleagues supporting digital broadcasting activities in the associated management-, administrative-, policy- and regulatory environments will also benefit from attendance.

Seats are limited and registration is essential. Several registration and sponsorship options are available. Discounts apply to group registrations.
Delegations from beyond South Africa attending in groups of 4 or less per organisation are offered free attendance.

Terms and Conditions
Seats are limited and registration is essential. Registration is on a first come first served basis. Group discounts apply only to consolidated group bookings. A registration form with delegate list needs to be completed per delegation. All fees need to be settled before the event. Registration can only be confirmed once the applicable fees are paid in full. Cancellations before 6 October 2017 will be refunded at 50%. Cancellations after 6 October 2017 will not be reimbursed. Delegates registering under the “Free Attendance” category are liable for R 27 000 in the event of a “no-show” without prior cancellation by 6 October 2017
Delegates need to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements.
It is recommended that delegates consider the Fairway Hotel. The Fairway Hotel is co-located with the conference venue.
